Judy Lui,
Clinical Supervisor
Educator, Speaker, and Founder
Dedicated to Culturally Humble Supervision and Reflective Practice
Judy Lui (MSc, CCC, RMFT, RP) is the Founder and Clinical Director of Your Story Counselling and Lead Clinical Supervisor for Your Story's Low-Cost Therapist Intern Clinic.
Drawing from extensive experience across psychotherapy, community mental health, education, supervision, and private practice settings, Judy supports therapists in building sustainable, values-aligned clinical work through culturally humble supervision, reflective mentorship, and collaborative learning.
Her approach integrates strengths-focused, postmodern systemic, trauma-informed, and culturally attuned perspectives that honour the lived experiences clinicians bring into their work.
She is passionate about creating spaces where therapists can deepen clinical confidence, strengthen professional identity, and grow meaningful practices that align with their values.

A Personal Commitment to Meaningful Care
As a Chinese/Hong Kong-Canadian raised in Scarborough and now living in York Region, I understand firsthand how culture, identity, family systems, and lived experience can shape the way we move through the world.
My own experiences navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and body image challenges sparked a lifelong curiosity about human behaviour, relationships, and healing. That journey ultimately led me to pursue psychology, family therapy, and clinical supervision.
Today, I remain deeply committed to creating spaces where therapists feel supported, respected, challenged, and understood as they navigate the emotional and professional realities of clinical work.
My Approach
Supervision Rooted in Cultural Humility
Strengths-Focused Practice
I believe clinicians already possess many of the skills and resources needed for growth. Supervision helps uncover, strengthen, and expand those existing capacities.
Honouring Lived Experience
Culture, identity, community, and personal history all influence the therapeutic relationship. Meaningful supervision creates space to explore these realities with curiosity and care.
Collaborative Reflective Growth
Supervision is not about having all the answers. It is about creating opportunities for thoughtful dialogue, accountability, and ongoing professional development.
Sustainable Clinical Practice
Therapists deserve support not only in their clinical work, but also in navigating the complexities of private practice, leadership, and long-term professional wellbeing.
Judy's work is informed by experience supporting clients, therapists, and trainees across a range of clinical concerns and relational systems.

Beyond the Office
Outside of supervision and professional development, Judy enjoys spending time with family, writing, and contributing to initiatives that promote equity and inclusion within the mental health profession. She believes learning extends beyond formal training and is committed to ongoing personal and professional growth.
